Josefa was born in Main San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Augustin and Beatriz Leija. She is preceded in death by her husband, Israel Garcia, and parents. Her legacy lives on through her four sons, Israel Jr., Albert, Robert, and Fernando, as well as her nine grandchildren, Leonel, Andy, Julian, Israel III, Akasis, Rebecca, Lila, and many more.

A funeral service will be held in honor of Josefa's life at Serenity Funeral Home, with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on 'date'. The family will receive friends for 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment will follow at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery in Harlingen.
